Daydream '89

Saturday night turned into Sunday morning real quick. Felicia’s cozy little pad turned into a retro paradise - full of soda pop, pizza grease, boom-box beats, and 8-bit glory. Nodoka, her android roomie with a heart of gold, dug out an old stereo Tanya’s mom scored back in the early '80s. The moment they hit play, time kinda... folded. Suddenly it felt like they were living in a world that existed before they were even born. They danced, they laughed, they fired up the dusty NES, and Carl got smoked in Battletoads & Double Dragon (again). He ended up KO’d on the floor - rightful punishment for a scrub. Felly crashed in bed first, cuddling up next to Nodoka, while Tanya kept her nose in a Game Boy. Even Mura, their siamese kitten, claimed a spot. Just a bunch of misfits, stuck somewhere between the past and a perfect dream. No alarms. No deadlines. Just vibes

Artist’s Note:

This piece is a full-on remake of my older drawing "Bedtime Melodies". The original version? Yeah... I traced over someone else’s sketch without asking. Classic rookie mistake. The artist (shoutout to Annie from Canada) called me out - and she was right. Could I have just ghosted the drama? Sure. But instead, I took the high road, deleted the traced version, and went back to the drawing board. This version right here? 100% fresh. New vibe, new flow, all mine. So thanks, Annie. For the concept spark and for kicking me into gear. Look closely - there’s a lil’ Easter egg for you in the top-right corner 😉

PS: Any salty vibes in the comments? Instant delete. No second chances. I’m not here to babysit. This isn’t 2021 - I’ve grown, leveled up, and got a little meaner. Deal with it
